RFF Africa 2018
Investing in Responsible Finance and Innovation for Africa’s Digital Economies
The Ninth Annual Responsible Finance Forum: Investing in Responsible Finance and Innovation for Africa’s Digital Economies (RFF Africa 2018) was held on October 1-2, 2018 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
RFF Africa 2018 was co-led by IFC and Making Finance Work for Africa based at the African Development Bank, and organized in collaboration with RFF partners GIZ, CGAP, BTCA/UNCDF and the World Bank. The RFF was supported by Germany’s Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This year’s Forum was a continuation of prior Annual RFF Events and focused on Africa’s evolving digital landscape. The Forum brought together over 120 investors, industry, policymakers, practitioners and innovators to assess critical challenges facing Africa today as well as its potential to accelerate investments in responsible digital financial services.
Participants engaged with Africa’s local practitioners including representatives from central banks and insurance regulators about evolving models and technology solutions together with Signatories of the recently launched Guidelines for Investing in Responsible Digital Financial Services. RFF Africa provided another opportunity for additional inputs and consultations to enhance the Investor Guidelines launched in June 2018 in Amsterdam.
